The Catalinbread CBX Gated Reverb pedal recreates the iconic ’80s studio effect popularized by Phil Collins, combining digital reverb with a noise gate to create huge, percussive, and spacey tones that cut off sharply, preventing mud in the mix. It features an overdrivable preamp for texture, adjustable reverb thickness, lag time before the gate engages, and a mix knob for wet/dry balance, allowing it to function as an expressive “always-on” effect for huge soundscapes or tight, rhythmic punctuation.
