The Sennheiser e614 is a small diaphragm condenser mic that beautifully captures all sorts of instruments, drum overheads and cymbals its specialty. The supercardioid pattern ensures plenty of rejection of reflections and nearby instruments and amps, and with a slightly lower average output than most microphones of this type, the e614 can take on loud sources without needing to be padded down at the mic pre.
